Executive Director
“Jare has three years experience in leading projects and has worked at the grassroots for 15 years.
He led the NDI-sponsored VoteNotFight campaign in 2022 and 2023 in Osun State and was an integral part of the southwest youth electoral reforms.
Graduated from the University of Ilorin, Jare has attended no fewer than 27 seminars and conferences across the globe and recently presented possible electoral reforms before the National Assembly Committees.
A journalist of over seven years experience, Jare is the Executive Director of Insight Initiative for Community and Social Development and leads the Osun Open Local Government Project.
The removal of fuel subsidy by President Bola Tinubu has led to increased allocations to all tiers of government. In 2022, 30 local government councils in Osun got N58.2bn on average of N1.94bn per each. This increased to N75.2bn and N2.51bn on average in 2023. This is a part from internally generated revenue.
As citizens, we must follow the money and demand transparency and accountability from our leaders. This huge amount must be commensurate with the development. It's high time we all called for an open local government system.
We hope to lead this discussion and chart a new course for development at the grassroots. This project will bring all stakeholders together and reach people at the grassroots.”
